Hi ya guys,
Over the past couple of weeks i have taken a break from coder profile... mainly because i sprained my elbow and forearm or something. My forearms still not 100% as it still hurts while i type. But at least i can now properly straighten my arm and stuff. Instead... i have not just sat back at watched tv or played games. I've finished reading about 4 programming/business books including a huge Ubuntu book (almost 1000 pages). very good book. I've also been able to get a better view on Coder Profile ( i think i really needed that break to widen my dev vision of CP).
So... what's next for CP.... basically... 2 major updates this year... and then i'm going to promote it.
v2 will be released a week or two after my forearms better and i can get back to my usual typing habits. 75% of the v2 update is completed. Then the first major release will be include a few things like:
Forum tweaks (ability to quote multiple posts, notifications to multiple quote authors, etc)
Some updates on the WYSIWYG editor (such as the ability to use tabs, and not have them converted to spaces)
A new back end for the notification system allowing more informative notifications, sub filters (for example filter by the discussion forum, then if you want, just replies)
A new back end for the way you add applications to your profiles. In the future i could easily add the ability for you to rename the applications when they are shown on your profiles for example... if you don't like the app name of "blog" on your profile... you could change it to "journals" etc... i will only be utilising the basics of the new back end code... but the potential is much more than what you will initially see.
New components that are added all over the site including a new review system where you can type in your review of something and rate it by selecting stars (1 to 5), a new commenting system that allows for branched replies, branch notifications, AJAX display of branches,... view in full

I posted a topic on phpfreaks.com today to see what other coders would think about this site... coders that have not spoken to me first and the results were great. I'll quote a few things that were said.
The site looks good, my version of Ubuntu + FF3 usually breaks sites, but yours is holding up pretty well.
Looks very nice! I love the look of websites like that. Can't see a single problem with design.
I'd say your site has the potential to take off.
It's a shame it's made with tables - close to perfect!
Great work!
The design is beautiful.
I think the website really has potential.
Overal i would say that is some pretty good feedback. A few suggestions were made as well of course which was very helpful. I would just like to say thanks to the members who replied to the topic.
Kind regards,
Scott
