Hi ya guys,
Here's what this long awaited update contains
Rich Text Editor
- A new rich text editor has replaced the old BBCode Message Pad
- View custom emoticons and click to add them to your messages
- Loads more core (animated) emoticons have been added
- Ability to preview a message before you send it
- Multiple instances of the rich text editor can now be added to a single page
Shift Around
- If the friends application is disabled, people simply can not send you a friend invite (since you can't manage them anyway without activating it).
- The private user groups stuff has been removed from the user groups application leaving only the public groups. Put the Private Coder Groups where "Contacts" is. This is so you can utilize the private groups and not necessarily the public groups too.
- Contact lists have been removed (because private groups can do this)
- Referrals and custom emoticons are no longer an "application". They will be available to everyone and will not be disabled
- Deleted the to do lists application (sorry but it's just not coder specific enough and it will be resurrected in the project management application)
- Remove the following from CP: Profile Traffic Statistics, Announcements, Promotional Material and moved referrals to the misc section on the account home page
Home Page Revamp
- Donations can still be made, but at the moment they are not shown on the home page anymore. Also, you no longer get a donations badge (you will get an award when i add the awards application instead)
- Associates have been removed (they may come back at some point)
Breadcrumbs & Search Engine Optimization
- All url's have been re-written to nice user and search engine friendly versions
- All urls can be traversed properly
- Breadcrumbs exist all over the site now and the page titles match the breadcrumbs
- Different sections of the site have different colour coded breadcrumbs
- Profiles breadcrumbs have been improved
General Tweaks
- "Fans" and "About Me" are the only 2 required applications
- Added 50 or so new languages to the site
- Posting source codes no larger than 60,000 characters will be syntax highlighted
- Listed all the sites that have done something for CP such as prototype, icons, etc on a Credits page
- No longer part of the My Pingle Network since that connection was pointless. Just containing a link back to coder profile lol.
Pagination
- Uses javascript to jump from page to page instead of the incorrectly formed form tags
- Removed all references to "current_page" and change them to "page" in the pagination system
Discussion Forum
- No longer an application, but instead, is part of the "site" section
- It's url's are now much better looking
- New filter page that allows people to filter out all of a specific members topics / replies
- Rearrange categories via drag and drop
- Show / Hide categories
- Revamped design
- Removed left panel for easier reading of topics
Security Center
- A dialog pops up when your session is about to expire and you have the ability to resume it or logout.
- Allow users to see what other locations they are logged in at and have the ability to destroy those sessions / login keys
- Removed session bans (pointless)
- Enabled IP Monitor by default
- Email & IP Locking - When you enter the PIN and press enter, it clicks on the "Send New PIN" or whatever it's called box instead of the Continue to my account one - this problem has been fixed
- Remember Me Cookie Management – ability to adjust the level of protection
BBCode
- Check the bbcode manual for more information on the tags and their new parameters
- Tags can now have multiple parameters
- Tags can also be nested
- Clicking Code tags shows a textarea at the same height as the text it contains.
That's briefly what was included in this update, however, it's not everything (since i've forgotten a lot of what was updated lol).
I'm sorry this update took so long to release, but i hope it was worth the wait
