This is a thread for you all to share what programming related things you are working on right now and your progress on them. I figure that it should be interesting to see what your fellow programmers are working on.

I'm working on a game of Battleship right now. I wanted a project for the Christmas break, so I chose this. It should be fun. I just started so I don't have a lot done.

I really want to make a couple "worthy" programs so that I have something to put on my portfolio. Unfortunately, when you're learning how to program, it's hard to make something that's worthy of being shown. A lot of the time, especially in something like C++, your programs are all run from the terminal window and don't do anything too interesting from and external point of view.

So guys, what are you current projects?

not working on anything now but i would really like to make something. Been thinking of writing a tut on winsocks(since this was the recent thing that i worked on) but i am not sure if anybody will find it useful and besides i am playing Resident Evil game these days which is eating all my time

Hi,
well i have several projects on the schedule. I'm talking about private projects
not for work (those are boring rails applications).

Currently all my projects are done in scheme.

My newest project is an egg (a package for the chicken scheme system) that implements a patricia trie.

My second project that allready started an makes good progress is library of
parsercombinators. This is a subproject of a markdown->sxml parser.
This parser i need for my webproject lisp-unleashed. So everything leads to a project
doesn't it? ;)

My next bigger project will be a framework for framebased knowlegdrepresentation in scheme, maybe inside schelog.
It shall be an extendable expertsystem embedded in scheme, that supports
both forward- and backchaining in the inference-engine.

Also i'm planning to write a simple parser for natural english, that is to be
incorporated into my irc-bot. This is really a longtime project of mine.
Beside the nl-parser i'm planning to interface it with something like multinet.

Yepp those are my projects right now. Beside thati need to tweak on the sendfile.egg for the chicken system wich i maintain, and which causes a lot
of trouble lately.

I got one project over the holidays... coderprofile!

But next year i would like to make a few games in VC++ so next year at the xmas break i would like to create a game... have no idea what kind of game... but hey... i have like 365 days to think of one!

ive got appr. 5 month to learn C++ and figer out on how the hell to create a chess game, will probably do it in java though

Blasphemy! In any case, I don't think that I really want to do chess anymore. Maybe another time. I'll see.

In other news, Rinoa is about 400 lines old. She's still a little baby.
