Reason being nothing seems to work properly on vista and they just seem to do a great job at really annoying you. For example when updates are made they ask to restart your computer with a countdown... you can only postpone it to a max of 4 hours... now what happens is there are always updates because of how new vista is and you find that if you leave your computer on overnight downloading for example you wake up to find it has been restarted!!! Or if you take a break from your computer. They also ask your permission for everything! Oh and you have to make sure you click run as admin when ever you install something else the program does not work after it has installed.
All in all vista is a real pain in the
XP is nice... it does everything how you expect and want it to.
I agree. Far too much time trying to beat Apple's Aqua and developing their delusional security software. "Onoez, filez bein' deleted by you...are you sure you want to do thissss!? Why not play Solitaire instead!?"
Well I like Win. XP Pro personally although my laptop (which I use most of the time) has Vista on it, don't get me wrong Vista is a good operating system as long as you have UAC disabled (just made an article on that http://www.coderprofile.com/coding-article/11/disable-uac-on-vista) as it annoys the hell out of everyone!
The main thing I don't like is a lot of my favorite apps (includeing Dev-C++) doesn't work on Vista...
Not that I support Vista or anything (in fact I'm a fan of GNU's BadVista =P), you could always recompile Dev-C++ on Vista if you have Borland Delphi installed. I managed to get Delphi 7 Personal running on Vista back when I tried out the beta.
