Quick update. Almost finished the skills section, actually i have finished it... but i'm really not happy with how you edit skills so i'm changing it. You can nest skills, like Languages > PHP > GD2 and each level loads via AJAX. The thing is, people change as time goes on and you forget languages, no longer use languages, focus more on other languages, etc which will mean after you have first added your skills, 6 months later they will need updating. For this reason, ajax will not be used when viewing skills on your account section (not profile). You will be able to adjust descriptions, and star ratings, and time used, then click save and it will use ajax to save it and cross out the skill. That way you can easily update all your skills even if you had 100 skills on there! While your profile will show them via ajax.
At the weekend i will finish off that skills page. Then going to finish off the profile feeds stuff. Then create a new file uploader class (to long of a reason to explain why). Then create a soource codes application. Then all done for v2
With v2 i'm aiming to get the funamentals done. Like blog, skills, etc... get them right this time so i don't have to go back to them. Then i can focus v2's minor updates to adding applications like tutorials, blogs, etc. By which point, CP should be perfect for programmers.
I'm sure you guys can workout how that will work... it runs off the same engine as this site... and i'm going to link it up to coderprofile when it gets busy. I'm only spending this week on it though - keeping it simple.
All that is left to do on it is the actual chat room page, login form, account management, and profiles. Though the pages are only very simple so each page will take about 1 hour at the most. The chat room page will take about 6 hours i think. Just got to brush up on JSON...
Seperate... chat rooms are resource intensive and i do not want it to afect this site. So they are independant of each other. I will link them though as different sites such as on the codersocial you can enter your username and password for coderprofile to extend your codersocial profile with... or something like that anyway.
But they will not be merged into 1 site and will always be on different servers. I feel a chat room is not for coderprofile.com
