Finished off the site news stuff today. 3 Categories of News:
Announcements - Things like any media coverage, should a coder get a good stat like 20000 followers, when development of CP v3 starts, business stuff, security alerts, etc
System Updates - When CP gets updated from say v1.23.00 to v1.23.01, and what has changed because of that update
Development Labs - Anything under development but not yet in a final "system update". This means your feedback and views may heavily affect the update itself and in some cases be completely changed or discarded due to your feedback.
Comments are also enabled on posts, and you can nest comments.
RSS feeds are available for each category or all the posts.
There is also a newsletter that you can sign up to in the footer. The newsletter will be sent every 2 to 3 weeks and contain the following (though this may change):
Featured Coder
Useful Links
New CP News Posts since last newsletter
Useful Tips (how to promote your profile, etc)
Anything else you think would be good in the newsletter please let me know.
Just finished designing out the newsletters... everything in that area is now all ready to go even added it to the registration form so people can signup to it when they register (though i cheated and used cURL instead of using the web services they offer, which takes more reading, and setting up, and coding etc). Seems to work though when i tested it.
