I have Notepad2 replacing the window's notepad, though I use Notepad++ for programming. PlainEdit by gaijin.at is really good also.

There is in fact a small program you can download here: http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/download.php

(after the plug ins) that completely replaces the windows notepad with notepad++

For windows, Notepad++. For *nix, Vim is the best...

Notepad ++

I'm actually writing a Text-Editor/Interpretor for Python, since I don't like IDLE that much. Hopefully it will turn out good.

You gonna put the source code for it on your Profile?

Would be quite cool. Few things i think you would need to add:

Syntax highlighting,
Detection of opening and closing braces,
Search and replace.

Kind regards,
Scott

Already have'em pseudo-coded and planned, just need time to write the code and debug it, and yes, the code will be up here.

However, I will be putting it up on Sourceforge (probably) just so people can download it as an executable.

I think i gonna change that rule... in the source code section so that you can upload executables as long as the source code is with it. Anyway i understand why you would upload it to source forge as well.

I'l be adding a project management system here in time which will allow compiled codes etc for sure

What are some of the features you have planned for it?

Kind regards,
Scott

What language will you be making this in?

And I use Notepad++, but only for PHP. All the other languages have superior IDE's for them. PHP, for some reason, doesn't have a decent editor.
