So, I began working with this company, Wrap It Up! Vehicle Wraps, http://www.WrapItUpVehicleWraps.com, a month or so ago. The environment is really cool, laid back, and I can get a lot of work done. In the time I've spent working here, I've created a new website for them, and I'm currently working on a portal for their corporate and franchisee's to use to relate to each other so it is easier for them to do sales, reporting, printing, etc.
So, I was wondering if you could all take a look at the site and tell me what you think. The portal website is not done yet, but it will be next week sometime I hope.
Thanks man! Ya, I really strive to not go for flash with sites trying to make money from visitors.
For one: flash can be slow when end users don't have a fast computer
Two: Search Engines cannot see flash (although they have the capability.. )
I would also like to add that when I came on, the site has jumped in Live.com, Ask, and Yahoo from page 5+ to page 1 in the SERP's for dense keywords like Vehicle Wrap, Car Wrap, Auto Wrap, and Car Advertising.
Anyone who says SEO is hard must not be doing it right :P
Right, well we were on the inner pages for the longest time. We got most of our traffic by PPC. But when I started using keywords and various SEO things around the site, Live.com, Yahoo and Ask.com picked it up in no time. Google, however, is still behind. I think Live.com is a better search engine than Google now, IMHO. Google really is getting slow and behind.
Google isn't getting slow and behind, they are getting lazy :P They have no reason to pick up the pace! No matter what, I'll only use Google, except rare cases where I'll use ask.
On topic, great site! I love the colors, it looks VERY professional. I'd be very happy with those results! Honestly, this is the kind of stuff, if not better, the guys who get paid $40/hr produce :P It goes with the theme perfectly too, everything is nice.
I only have one thing I'd suggest, which I only assume you don't have. If users are blocking JS, you should use the <marquee> tags. Obviously, they don't produce great results, but better than nothing, right? Maybe not in your opinion, but my personal opinion.
Also, I agree, I don't understand why some professional design sites STILL use flash as their primary type of code/design/whatever. It makes no sense to buy a full on flash site...waste of money! Dial up still exists....I know, weird, huh?? Honestly, before about a month ago, I though dial up was dead. But then, some1 told me they had dial up, and I was like "Really? I thought they stopped selling that! Why do you have dial up?!".
Well, not sure what you said made sense lol. If Google is getting lazy, why use them? I'm a Microsoft junky, but Live.com is going to push ahead, through Google, very soon. Microsoft is very good at what they do. Even if they start behind, they always get ahead in some way. Vista started out bad, but what OS doesn't? The millions of situations and bugs that can be encountered are by the public, that's why the release it to the public. Same as Live.com. The results are pretty good now, but just wait for another 6 months, and they will be right on par with Google. In that amount of time, who knows if Google will still be showing the exact same results or not.
What I find interesting is Live has more crawlers on the internet than Google. Maybe that's why my site is index'd so often :P Google could learn a thing or two.
But for people who have Javascript disabled, then they will just see a div with non-moving images. I tried to use the marquee tag first, but that doesn't allow images to move, only text, which sucks.
