Internet & Web Sites
|
Hey people, here's a list of 20 great Firefox addons you maybe didn't know about earlier. Anyway, they are all great! BTW this list isn't made in order of greatness or anything, they are just listed up.
- MCAFEE SITEADVISOR: If the site is shown as green, it should be safe. You will know whatever the current site is safe or not.
- NOSCRIPT: Disables all scripts on sites which aren't whitelisted. This can save you from browser exploits. Combine with SiteAdvisor and you can always check whatever the site is safe or not and then allow it if it is safe.
- SAVE IMAGE IN FOLDER: Allows you to right click and quickly save an image in a specific folder from a customizable list.
- FIREBUG: Allows you to quickly find bugs in your website and allows you to directly modify it in your browser!
- GREASEMONKEY: Greasemonkey allows you to use scripts to improve a specific website.
- IE TAB: Allows you to view a tab as if you were using Internet Explorer. Great on websites with compatibility problems but as well great for web development!
- WEB DEVELOPER: A toolbar for web developers. Allows you to quickly use tools that will help you with optimizing your webpages. The tools are for instance the option to disable all CSS on the page.
- ADBLOCK PLUS: Blocks ads on websites. If you find the ads annoying, this addon is for you!
- BUGMENOT: Allows you to skip mandotary login for viewing some websites. Many great features!
- COLORFULTABS: Colorifies your tabs. Looks both stylish and makes it easier to quickly click the right tab.
- FOXTAB: Stylish 3D tab managment for FireFox, both useful and just stylish.
- IMAGE TRANSLOADER: Transloads an image from a server to IE imageshack. Great for sites which don't allow hotlinking.
- TORBUTTON: Torbutton allows you to enable or disable Tor in the browser with only one click on a button.
- DOWNLOAD STATUSBAR: Adds a statusbar which shows your active downloads in a minimal way. No download window, just a statusbar which disappears after download has finished.
- STUMBLEUPON: Analyzes your browsing habits and can then that way recommend similiar sites to you!
- FISSION: Uses the addressbar as the progress bar just as in safari. Looks quite stylish...
- FORECASTFOX: Giving you international weather prognoses directly in your browser.
- SMARTER WIKIPEDIA: Gives you a box with similiar pages on wikipedia and allows you to search wikipedia from basically any page.
- GREEN: Swaps out the normal ads on sites to ads which money goes to fighting global warming. Now you got a reason to surf the web "a few" hours a day!
- WORD COUNT PLUS: Counts the amount of word in the selected text. I love word counts, did ya know, lol?
So, that was all for today!

User Agent Switcher is a good one for the hackers out there. Local File Inclusion works a treat if you get a page to include /proc/self/environ, it displays the HTTP user agent which lets you inject PHP code. Quite an old hack, but still nice.
