A few years.
What got you interested in coding?
When I started out on using the Internet, I always were fascinated at how websites were made and developed. So, the curiosity got the best of me, and here I am now!
What is your favorite coding language and why?
PHP - Was the first server-side language I came across. Plus, it's open-source.
What do you enjoy most about coding?
Anyone who has access to the Internet can see the end result.
How did you learn to code?
Surprisingly, no books. I just looked at random tutorials online (must've looked at quite a few), never bothering to read the descriptions much. I'm a hands-on guy - meaning I have to actually do it myself to really understand what it does.
What are your favorite coding books?
Like I said above, I did not read a single book on coding.
What do you use your coding languages for?
(X)HTML/CSS/Javascript - user interface
PHP/MySQL - Site backend
How many hours a week on average do you spend coding?
Qiite a lot. Don't ask me for specific numbers, 'cause they vary by week.
What language do you use the most?
PHP
Have you ever done freelance (paid work) for someone, if so please explain?
Duh - I'm currently a freelancer.
Do you enjoy freelance work and why?
Yes because of the satisfaction you'll get for designing and producing a site specific to the client's needs.
Do you code for fun or because you have to at work?
Both. Work - I'm a freelancer. Fun - I'm doing a side project.
Have you ever worked on an Open Source project, if so what was the project?
No.
What is your ideal environment & comforts when coding? Eg, in a quiet office with some coffee.
In my "office" at home, with my Gmail checker plugin for Firefox set to check my e-mails every minute.
What has aided you the most when coding?
Tutorials online. LOTS of tutorials. Don't forget about the examples.
What language have you been the least productive in?
Javascript. I barely know the language, thus I struggle with it.
What language do you plan on learning next, and why?
I plan on learning more about Javascript, then I'm thinking about learning Actionscript (flash).
What distracts you most when coding?
Instant messages.
What sort of things have you coded?
Websites (both front-end and back-end).
What are you most proud of coding?
Everything that I manage to develop.
What motivates you to keep coding?
Money and my own self-satisfaction. |
