My Experiences So Far with Languages
Programming
|
I enjoy writing articles, people call me an extremely descriptive writer when I write fiction.
But what really peeves me is Microsoft. I like Windows 98, but ever since that, their quality has gone down, and their prices gone up.
My friend's windows 98 computer, with 300 MB of RAM boots up faster any Windows XP or Vista computer I have seen, and most of those have a GIG of ram!
and better processors and everything! I also like Windows 98 "MS-DOS Mode" because I like that instant start-up, and I find it a nice environment for
writing and testing my Perl programs, no distractions your OS would have such as annoying alerts, whatever.
I have explored HTML, CSS, JavaScript, heck I even explored JS, and used it to open notepad, and write in it, without actually touching the window.
If I want music to run, I'll pack a perl program that uses Audio::Beep, and I'll have some old-fashioned sounding music in the background.
(PAR, and PAR::Packer, rock.) I have yet to find a free webspace... View In Full

A cool tool ^^
Web Development

If you copy/paste the above code in your address bar, you can visually edit their page-
(like a frontpage setup, whatever) it's cool. You can't save anything(as far as I know)
But I sort of.. stumbled on it. I tested it in Forefox and it works (and whatever works in firefox, usually works in in IE7.) I just thought it was kinda cool
This works on every page I've seen, and it's great fun! What's cool is when you stump the admin wondering how their page came to look like it does in your screenshot View In Full

Using Tk::Text I have used IO::File to open a text file into an open Tk::Text Window.
It's really simple.. but I forgot how I made my original Text Editor in Perl. That one was also
pretty simple. B

Using the Arrow Keys, you can move the dashed box around the canvas.
I can't figure out how to bind events to anything in other then the mainwindow, which sucks.
It'd be nice if I could bind events

You write music codes, using the Audio::Beep method of writing music.
(Music notes ' , es is) Look up Audio::Beep for more info.
And it can play, save, or even load a text file containing this "Mu

I see you set your heart on learning Perl. Nice choice.
I would have done the same, but the only thing that pisses me off is, everything you do would be open source.
Unless of course you use third party tools to compile a script, which, will leave you with extra files. And bulky executables.
